10am - 2pm, Saturday 4 May 2019
Admiralty House, the Governor-General’s official residence in Sydney, is open to the public on Saturday, 4 May from 10am-2pm.
Come along and explore the house and grounds (including one of the best views in Sydney!) and find out about life at Australia’s vice-regal residence.
The Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove will meet visitors throughout the day.
Entry is free and food and drink will be available to purchase from local vendors. Families are also welcome – and encouraged! – to bring a picnic lunch and relax within the grounds.
Admiralty House is a historic and unique building that dates to the 1840s and has been the official Sydney residence of Australia’s Governor-General since 1913. The grounds include the Marine Barracks – one of only two remaining historical fortifications on Sydney Harbour.
Visitors will be able to explore the grounds, tour the House (including official reception areas, the dining room used to host State Receptions and the Governor-General’s study) and out buildings, and see the Governor-General’s Rolls Royce.
